What is happening in this picture?
The civil right movement. African Americans marching/protesting for their equal rights.
What is happening in America at the time the picture was taken?
The Civil Rights Movement.
What do the peoples faces reflect?
The faces in this picture reflect determination and anger.
Give an example of how this might happen today
Discrimination, like in the picture, could happen today with any race, religion, or sexual orientation. Today discrimination like this could be: All homosexual are not allowed to eat at certain restaurants because of their sexuality. This is actually happening today, also with religion.
BR 4/2/14
I think the most difficult part of the discrimination project for me will be ahving to remember to ask for and to do EVERHING including our bellringers. I just hope this project ends quickly.

Is racism still an issue in 2014? Yes racism if certainly still an issue in our country because someone somewhere is being judge for the color of their skin or their religion or their sexual orientation. No matter what we do and what we try to change, there will always be people judging and belittling others for some reason or another. Being racist isn't just judging someone for what color they are, there are many other ways to be racist. For example: Kristyn is wearing a red shirt and Amanda is wearing a blue shit. If someone says that they like Amanda more because she is wearing the blue shirt that's being racist toward Kristyn.

I believe that the Justices should serve for life because it take many years to get the qualifications and experience to be a justice. I mean if they only served a, say, six year term, that would need more people to be "in line" for the job when the term is over, what if there are not enough people? I think that the American people should not get to vote on who is the justice because there is too many certifications to look at and what not. The congress and the president have more experience in the epolitical fields so they should be the one who decide who the justices are.

What is your opinion of Flight 370's disappearance? Is this an issue that should concern America?
Why would someone want to delete information and a flight simulator? In my mind, I'm thinking it was an inside job, like one of the people involved with the plane deleted the information. I do think this should be a concern for American because, what if this was an act of terrorism? I mean, I hope it wasn't. I hope it was just a fluke but it could happen.

Declaring War on Grafton (i was absent for this assignment)
1. Out of the three options you must propose a way to fund this war (if tax is chosen a plan for taxation must be presented, if borrowing money is chosen the Country, how much, and how we plan to repay them must be presented, if asking our population for money you must present whether you will use T-notes or bonds).
To fund this war I would probably do more than one of the options you have listed. I would probably ask the population of the County to help pay by using Bonds, I would use raise taxes on a few item sold throughout the county. I probably raise taxes on alcohol and tobacco products.
2. You must decide our strategy for raising an army (If asking for a volunteer force what incentives will you provide, if instituting a draft what will be the requirements for eligibility, if hiring a mercenary force how will you pay them and how will you ensure they follow the County's wishes).
I would probably go with a volunteer force because I don't think it's right to force people to go to war. I'd give them the incentives of free college tuition and free medical insurance.
3. You must propose a strategy for delivering the soldiers their mail
Pony express all the way!!!
4. You must ratify one or more of the treaties or propose a new treaty with another surrounding County.
I would probably make a treaty with Upshur, Harrison, and Randolph county because in my opinion those are the wealthiest counties, so it seems

As I was reading the comments under the article, what I got from it is that people think its our fault for not automatically knowing a chemical spill could happen. This makes me think other states think we're, for lack of a better word, stupid for not knowing. I'm sure officials are smart enough to know that this could have happen, but they probably didn't expect it. Accidents happen and there really isn't anything we can do to prevent them. All we can do is take care of the situation and try to prevent it from reoccurring.
